Have you tried using pkgsrc? The rpm there should build fine,
and there are ~1200 other packages.

wscons is not yet available on all ports - until then your

You need to look at pkgsrc - it handles downloading of source,
patching for NetBSD, automatically install required packages
and installation/removal.
