Well, "mkdir /proc" will do it. :-)
But I suppose you want a line like this in your "/etc/fstab", too:
procfs /proc procfs ro

You should read "man 5 fstab" and "man 8 mount_proc".

Why do you need those? As long as your binaries and kernel are from the
same release or compiled from the same sources using "libkvm" will
work fine.
