yes worked fully (uhm can't remember if it had ppp support as I wasn't
using it to connect to the net).

No I didn't...but I don't think this is the problem, I have recently
tryed out the old kernel downloaded from ftp.villagetronic.com
and still work, but I cannot mount the root filesystem (miniroot)
to go on with the installation...maybe it's too old.
