screen blanker, curses

 I am looking for a console screen blanker. Is there one for NetBSD?

 On a more general note, are there any plans to replace the system curses
 with ncurses? The ncurses ANNOUNCE statement has he following to say:

   considered 4.4BSD curses obsolete, and is encouraging the keepers of
   Unix releases such as BSD/OS, freeBSD and netBSD to switch over to
   ncurses.

 Mid-June 1995, that was over four years ago.  The current curses seem to
 be extremely limited. One cannot even compile mutt with it.
