Already checked this, same problem.  I'm still fiddling around
with the configuration options to isolate the bug but I had no
luck yet.  I'm pretty sure the bad behaviour is not caused by
the X server program, it works for me after compiling a stripped
down kernel myself.  At the very least it's not the server alone,
there must be something else in combination...
