This is a known problem (see problem report
http://www.NetBSD.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=5180
). There are (at least) two possible solutions for you:

- get current versions of src/sys/dev/ic/ncr53c9x* and build
  a new kernel
  
- wait for the next official NetBSD release
