Kernel Compile, X on Spectrum
A3000, EGS Spectrum, Microbotics 8UP, 2.1GB Seagate, 4MB Fast (32 bit)
Hello,
Apparently netbsd does not like my 8meg on the microbotics card, it crahses
whenever i boot, i have averted this problem by using loadbsd with the -pZ
options, wich only recondizes the 4meg on the motherboard. I would like to
compile my kernel in hopes to be able to get netbsd to use the 8meg on that
board, with specific infoon it, mem addresses and so fourth. as well as
streamlining it for my system. is this possible? if not could anyone suggest a
good ram solution for an A3000? (zips for example)
About X, in my previous experience i had a lot of trouble getting compatible
grfmodes, i use a 1950 Commadore monitor, could somone please email me a
compatible grfmodes file? also i would like to get the most possible out of
the egs card on the netbsd side, can i still get true colour at 640 by 480 or
16bit in 800 X 600? The kernel is the first step because running X on a 4 meg
system (when 2 are used for the egs card) is really useless.
Thanks
Ben
