Problems with compiled Kernel / Printing

Hello,

I have compiled my own Kernel and it´s much smaller than the generic one
(970KB). When I try to start X I always get:

ioctl VIOCGSIZE: Cannot allocate memory

Fatal server error
no CC Frame buffer

What can be the Problem?

My Config:
A1200
Bilzzard 1230/IV with 16M RAM and 68882@50MHz
