Netbsd 1.3.2

Hello there. Okay I got it installed, but now when It start I come to enter id 
and
password, I tried root, it said welcome to netbsd and then it said don't use 
root
use su
I am at a bit of a loss here.

I was talking to some people.. here is a bit more info.. after it says I should 
log
on as su i get a 
# prompt and then I am at a loss as to what to do
