I  have  not  followed  the discussion otherwise but xstreamtodev also
triggered  my CD ROM drive and would not write anything to hard drive.
I guess removing CD from the drive allowed writing to hard disk but it
still  checked  the CD ROM drive first (when CD was in it just went on
and on with the CD).

Would  the  fact that CD ROM drive is an SCSI one (on Warpengine) have
anything to do with that?
