256 colours with X

  Hi,

   I've got NetBsd running, plus X-windows, but I can't work out
   how to switch to 256 colours when loading X. I know/think that I
   should have an init file in Home configured to do this, but
   I don't have an example file to copy or alter so don't know
   the command format I should use.

   Any help much appreciated.
