pppd, PAP

Hi,

I am trying to setup internet in my NetBSD using pppd, but it fails. I have to 
use
PAP, which i do not really understand how to setup, anyone?
my current optiond file is,
rtscts
modem
defaultroute
noipdefault
ipcp-accept-local
ipcp-accept-remote
+pap
domain algonet.se
login
user samborg
auth

when I try to connect the modem calls up and connects but after about one second
it hangs up and pppd says something like "Serial line loop back"and then
connection terminated.

anyone?
