Is anyone out there running NetBSD on an Amiga 3000 with 3.1 ROMS? If so,
maybe you can tell how to get around this.

I downloaded the latest version of NetBSD for Amiga (version 1.2.1) and have
been trying to get it going on my A3000. I had been trying to get the
previous version going for over a year and thought this new version might have
fixed whatever my A3000 didn't like. Alas, same problems . . .

I've prepped/partitioned my Quantum 525 SCSI drive according to the
INSTALL document (root 20MB, user 100MB, swap 36MB and local the rest of the
disk 337MB). I have 12MB fast RAM and 2MB chip so I made the swap partition
big enough for the 14MB plus the extra 4MB I might add some day.

When I try to load the miniroot to the swap partition with xstreamtodev, my
machine either gets a Suspend/Reboot Alert box with a 80000004 failure or it
fragments the RAM to the point that it takes several minutes to do an AVAIL
from the Shell (most of the RAM is available but the largest contigious block
is 36KB!?). I use the command:

xstreamtodev --input=inst-121.fs --rdb-name=swap

and it gives the 80000004 failure. When I use:

xstreamtodev --input=inst-121.fs --rdb-name=swap --device=scsi.device --unit=3

I get the system slow down and extremely fragmented memory.

I've added the --verbose to the command and it prints "found device
serial.device" then "found device scsi.device" then 80000004 failure.

I downloaded the source savesets thinking I could compile the source in debug
(I use SAS/C version 6.57) to find the code that fails on my A3000. I
couldn't find the source to xstreamtodev.

Any help will be appreciated . . .
