I bit the bullet last night and decided to set up X11.
Setup:
A3000/68030/25Mhz
68882/25Mhz
2 Meg CHIP RAM
16 Meg FAST RAM
2 1gig Quantum SCSI drives
Picasso-IV
A2065 Ethernet
NetBSD 1.2 with the PicassoIV-MerlinZorroIII-source patches
X11R6.1, using the Xamiga server
Using the information that I gathered from Picasso96, I was able to do
a little math and generate this grfmodes file:

When I ran grfconfig, I got this output:
[10:48:07] [~] roloc# grfconfig /dev/grf3 /etc/grfmodes
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #9.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #10.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #11.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #12.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #13.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #14.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #15.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #16.
grfconfig: bad monitor definition for mode #17.
Which gave me these available modes:
[10:48:19] [~] roloc# grfconfig /dev/grf3
1: 640x480x8 37.2kHz @ 71Hz NI
2: 800x600x8 52.1kHz @ 81Hz NI
3: 1024x768x8 63.6kHz @ 79Hz NI
4: 1152x900x8 56.8kHz @ 60Hz NI
5: 1280x1024x8 75.0kHz @ 65Hz NI
6: 1600x1200x8 45.4kHz @ 36Hz NI
7: 640x480x16 37.2kHz @ 71Hz NI
8: 800x600x16 52.1kHz @ 81Hz NI
Console: 640x480 (80x60) 31.5kHz @ 60Hz NI
I can't figure out what is wrong with the 16 and 24 bit modes...
The other problem is that in the 8 bit modes, there seems to be a
byte-ordering problem. I don't know this for sure, but I do know
that the colors are all /wrong/. Black seem to be the only color that
is showing up properly, everything else is offset.
Any ideas?
