NetBSD-1.2.1 is a _patch release_. It is intended to supply _urgent
fixes_ for bugs in the NetBSD-1.2 release. It does _not_ provide
extended functionality.

The biv2 kernel you tried, is an experimental kernel. If the driver
therein makes it ever to an official release, it will be release 1.3.
