   A few problems whilst installing NetBSD on my Amiga..

   When I was using xstreamtodev to copy the miniroot file system, it
   got as far as saying 24% done and stopped it didnt give any

Yes. Thats 24% of the destination, not 24% of the source file.

   Next when I ran loadbsd with the -I ff -b netbsd after entering the
   drive with my swap on it, it said it couldnt mount root...  Ummmm,
   what have I done wrong?

When it asked you for the root partition, you didn't tell it the right
one. As you didn't provide any details, I can't tell what you did, but
common errors are:

- not type in the asterisk (e.g. sd0* for the swap partition on the sd0 disk)
- confusing the virtual scsi disk unit numbers in the "sd0*" notation with 
  SCSI target numbers on a particular disk. E.g., if you have an IDE
  disk, it will (normally) appear as sd0, and your first SCSI disk
  will be sd1. I suggest you check the startup messages to make sure
  you used the right number.
