Hello !
Thanks to Ignatios Souvatzis' work, I've been able to try an experimental
kernel
for CyberSCSI mk 1...
It's called : @(#)NetBSD 1.2B (GENERIC) #58: Tue Jan 7 11:35:18 MET 1997
I was really happy to get such encuraging messages :
cbsc0 at zbus0 rom 0xe90000 man/pro 8512/11: dmabuf 0x8574000 vmlnk 0x2704000
scsibus1 at cbsc0 channel0: 1 targets
sd1 at scsibus1 targ0 lun0: <IBM, DPES-31080, S31Q> SCSI2 0/direct fixed
:) :) :) :) !!!
Unfortunately, later on, I got troubles at `newfs' (in install script) :
Initializing / (root) filesystem and mounting...
/dev/rsd1a: 30960 sectors in 45 cylinders of 1 tracks, 688 sectors.
15,1MB in 3 cyl groups (16 c/g, 5.38MB/g, 1344i/g)
super-block backups (for fsck -b #) at:
32, 11040, 22048
cg 0: bad magic number
cg 0: bad magic number
I checked my partitions again under HDToolBox, and everything looks OK...
I tried `load -I ff -b netbsd' as well with the same result.
Besides, before trying to install NetBSD, I had been using FFS partitions
on this hard disk without any problem.
Could this "bad magic number" message have an ordinary cause (I mean, could
it be caused by anything but the fact that this kernel is still a little bit
too experimental ;-) ) ?
Regards,
Jerome
PS : BTW, isn't it strange to get only "1 target" detected on SCSI bus ?
(I also have a magneto-optical drive connected there...)
