Hi all,
I had the fortune of buying a DKB 3128 RAM board for my A3000, and have
added a 16M SIMM to it, so now my A3000 has 32M Fast RAM. As expected,
NetBSD v1.2 sees the 16M from the 3128 w/o problem and all works great!
However, a friend let me his 32M SIMM and I added it to the 3128, so now my
A3000 had 64M Fast RAM, with 48M of it was in the 3128 as one contiguous
chunk of RAM at $4000000. When I tried to start NetBSD v1.2, this is what I
got from loadbsd:
Using 48M FASTMEM at 0x40000000, 2M CHIPMEM
Kernel at 07be4d70, Fastmem used at 40000000
utils/loadbsd-2.14: Can't copy downwards yet.:
What does this mean - it did not start NetBSD (now that I am back to just
the 16M SIMM, NetBSD loads fine w/loadbsd)!? Does this mean I cannot use
this much memory w/NetBSD? It is ONE contigous block of memory. Any help
will be appreciated! Thanks in advanced...
