I thought, that Xcv is only for the Cybervision Card, and I have no 
Cybervision

That means that I have a modefile with only one mode defined (640x480x8) 
and i would like to have some more.

It would help. I'll pick out the suitable modes. I don't know where to 
get a modefile, because the Merlin Cybergraphics Driver has no 
monitor-files like the drivers for the other boards.
