RE: SPEED: Linux or NetBSD?
I figured that there would be swapping with only 8 megs of fast. I use
XDAniver with 3 bitplanes (720x480 I think). I wasn't aware that there
was swapping involved when dragging a window from one place to another,
but if there is, then I can understand the speed loss. However, I have an
old 386SX-16 with 8megs running Linux and X, and it is exceptionally
faster than my 50MHz '030 Amiga. It makes sense if the blitter is not
being used. Anyone working on that project?
