Yes I use X11. But I should add that I also use the MFCIII serial port:-)

Should work. I it doesn't use 
cat ksrc.?? | gunzip | tar xvf - 
instead.

Remove all devices you don't need in the config file. Or let them in if you 
have enough RAM:-)
