Semi-related: I needed *some* kind of card for now, so I picked up a
cheap rtk board locally. It works, but is giving me watchdog timeout
errors.

Also, writing the superblocks during install is slower than I expected,
and I occasionally get lost interrupts on the on-board IDE controller.

(The drive is a Western Digital drive that I just put in. It may be
worth noting that I sometimes get lost interrupts with another WD on
my older Athlon T-Bird.)

Finally: Are virtual consoles not available on amd64?
