Found a RAID card which almost works with Alpha

I found a RAID card which sorta works.

These don't work:

arcmsr*
mfi*
nvem*
viaide*

These work, but have issues:

aceride*
satalink*

The new card that sorta works is what I think is a 3ware Escalade 8506-4LP (twe*):

twe0 at pci1 dev 4 function 0: 3ware Escalade
twe0: interrupting at dec 6600 irq 36
twe0: 4 ports, Firmware FE8S 1.05.00.068, BIOS BE7X 1.08.00.048
twe0: Monitor ME7X 1.01.00.040, PCB Rev5 , Achip 3.20 , Pchip 1.30-66
twe0: port 1: ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB 953869 MB
twe0: port 3: ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB 953869 MB
ld0 at twe0 unit 1: TwinStor, status: Normal
ld0: 931 GB, 121601 cyl, 255 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 1953523120 sectors

It makes me wonder if the 3ware 9000 series (twa*) might work, too. It doesn't get me RAID-6, but at least the 9000 series is supposed to support
volumes larger than 2TB.

However, it takes a few restarts before the ld is seen. Most of the time I see:

twe0: reset not reported
twe0: reset failed

This doesn't happen on an x86 machine. I'd guess that the BIOS boot initializes something that is good and ready by the time the kernel tries to use it.

So, I suppose my quest for a working RAID card continues. In the meanwhile, I'll be using a hardware mirroring SATA enclosure connected via USB 3 so I can finally have a machine I can close :)
