Does anyone have a clue what the following is a symptom of?

I left it powered off awhile, and then tried again.  It made it
past fsck and then appeared to reset.  Does the multia have a watchdog
timer that resets it?

Are there any known weak spots other than the infamous "heat death" chip?
(which was replaced with a lower power version years ago)
