   It would be to see if writing to the disk worked better.  The
root partition detection has not been fixed yet.

   I think I've found a Mylex controller I can put into an AS1000A I've
been working on, so I can see if the 3.0.1 distribution works for me.

   The instructions should be about the same as for 3.0.1, although I
think sysinst has been improved since then.

   The distribution for the build can be found at:
 	ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/HEAD/200611030000Z/alpha

   There's an install document in that directory as well, which should
document the install process (although I'm not sure how up to date it
might be).
