(hmm, someone seems to have inserted two spurious line breaks there.)

Furthermore, 18446744073709550553 is 0xfffffffffffffbd9.  I find it a
lot more plausible that some counter went negative somehow than that a
bunch of numbers in decimal just happened to concatenate to form that.
