We used to get hundreds of machine checks an hour on our old 4100 with 
Tru64 4.0d. We never could get rid of them, and they never caused any 
panics. We just ignored them till we got rid of the machine. Took up a lot 
of log space, however.

I guess netbsd handles them differently than tru64.
