Isn't the AS4100 available with up to 4 x EV6 600 MHz? 
You call this slow???
My AS2000 dual 4/200 is slow. (In Alpha terms.)

Maybe your particular model was a low end config. But man, I would tade
some fairly nice machines out of my collection for an AS4100 in usable
config. (E.g. that dual CPU AIX box...)
