just for archival purposes:

after cvs'ing src and building -current again (version is now:

NetBSD 1.6R NetBSD 1.6R (GENERIC) #1: Fri Apr 11 11:53:22 CEST 2003
root@:/usr/src/sys/arch/alpha/compile/GENERIC alpha

)

the Adaptec SCSI controller works now. Haven't looked into the src what
changes were in, but seems that somebody is still working on that driver.
