Hi
 I am happy to report that 1.6 installed without any problems on my
axppci33. The installation was flawless (over a 9600 serial console) and
even the timezone stuff worked PERFECTLY, arrow keys and all.

 I do get these funny messages from time to time, but its probably telling
me my hardware is dying, correct?

 Anyhow, following the advice here, I have built most of the packages that I
required from pkgsrc. Samba took over 24 hours to build by itself,
fortunately, the rest took much much less time.

 netatalk does not build however. I get the following during the install

===========================================================================
The following files should be created for netatalk-1.5.3.1nb2:
/etc/rc.d/atalkd (m=0755)
/etc/rc.d/afpd (m=0755)
/etc/rc.d/papd (m=0755)
/etc/rc.d/timelord (m=0755)
