I don't have any direct answers, but I have some info from my
mucking around on a Multia, which may help.

- My effort to document how to create a boot floppy for Multias with IDE
drives inside...
http://pages.cthome.net/squeege/multia/
... config, kernel & dmesg files are there too. A little old, though. It's
only version 1.5.

- My effort at trying to get 1.5.1 serial console working...
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-alpha/2001/08/02/0008.html
...and...
http://pages.cthome.net/squeege/terminal/
...Never did get any answers about all that. Sadly, that HDD had to get
reformatted. I do plan on coming back around to hack on that problem,
though...
