Alright, I am going to type whats on the screen and maybe that will
provide more info (BTW is there a way to boot into verbose mode off of
the CD?) but first this is how its physically connected:

Dont know if this helps or not but there you have it. There is a DIP
switch package next to the 50pin scsi2 connector (thats where the CDROM
is) and they are all set to off. there is a 50pin scsi connector on the
mainboard and thats where the CDROM was originally connected but not
anymore (I thought it might help if I had the cdrom connected to
the53c875 controller, guess not)
curently on the screen (i do not have a terminal or serial connection so
I typed this by hand from whats on the monitor):
