Hi,

Based on the fact that the compat_linux(8) man page says:

> NetBSD supports running Linux binaries. This only applies to i386 systems
> for now.

And on the fact that I could find no COMPAT_LINUX options in any of the
sample
kernel configurations in alpha/conf/*, I made the erroneous assumption that
Linux compatibility did not exist for NetBSD/Alpha. My apologies.

I have just successfully built a kernel with "options COMPAT_LINUX" and am
in
the process of setting up /emul/linux right now. With any luck, the Compaq
JRE and C/C++ compilers will work and I'll finally be able to run java
programs
and replace egcs with the Compaq compiler for a nice performance boost.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
