Hi,

I just bought a Seagate ST410800N SCSI disk, but it keeps giving these error
messages (during boot and when I try to disklabel it):

probe(ncr0:6:0): Check Condition on CDB: 0x00 00 00 00 00 00
SENSE KEY: Hardware Error
ASC/ASCQ: No Seek Complete
FRU CODE: 0x1

During boot, it also says this:

sd1 at scsibus0 target 6 lun 0: <SEAGATE, SX410800N, 7117> SCSI2 0/direct fixed
sd1(ncr0:6:0): 10.0 MB/s (100 ns, offset 8)
sd1: drive offline

Does anyone know what's going on here? From some earlier posts, I gather that
the disk should work in other Alpha systems (I have an AXPpci33, by the way).
I fiddled a bit with termination jumpers, and the spinup configuration, but
it doesn't change anything...

Yours,

  Jaap Boender
