The other day, I spotted what appear to be a couple of alpha 3000/800
machines in the boneyard. I have no idea what is in the machines, other
than a fddi card, a couple of scsi interfaces, and the usual gang of
interfaces (ethernet, ISDN, serial...). I hava no idea if the internals
(ram, cpu...) are all there (or there at all).

The big question: would it be worth the effort to pull the machines in
out of the rain, and set one (maybe scavenging parts from the other one)
to replace my NoName (axp-pci33) for a file server at home? Similarly, I
don't know what kind of cash the scrappers will want for both the
boxes...
