A compaq adapter, with 2 NCR53c875 + a 21243 behind a PCI/PCI bridge ?
I've such an adapter in my DS20

Hum, this doesn't prevent normal operation, does it ?
I don't have this problem on my DS20, but I've devices on both channels
(internal and external).

A Tekram DC-390 doesn't have any problems without devices, but I've got
problems with older 53c810 has the same behavior when the bus is empty.
This is a hardware problem and nothing much can be done about it.
Can't you move some devices from channel A to B (BTW it would also improve
performances :) ?
