Subject: Stray IRQ on multia

Hello,

since about half a year I get stray IRQs with NetBSD current on
DEC multia hardware. NetBSD 1.4.2 runs without trouble on the
same hardware. I sent the problem report port-alpha/11202 a
while ago.

I just tested NetBSD-1.5_BETA2. Same problem. The serial ports
(at least ttyC0) is not usable, neither is serial console
mode. The problem occurs with a GENERIC kernel and with a custom
kernel without PCMCIA support.

Has anybody observed the same problem?

NetBSD 1.4.2 dmesg output shows edge-triggered/level-triggered
warnings, but serial ports work.

com0 at isa0 port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4: ns16550a, working fifo
alpha_shared_intr_establish: isa irq 4: warning: using edge-triggered on level-triggered
com1 at isa0 port 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3: ns16550a, working fifo
alpha_shared_intr_establish: isa irq 3: warning: using edge-triggered on level-triggered

Later NetBSD versions do not show the warning, but stray
interrupt error messages.
