How did attempting to boot the NetBSD disk fail?  Did you use the
"cdhdtape" image?

Yes, NetBSD does work on the 3000/400.  I used to run NetBSD on one
such machine.  I know there are at least a couple of other people
reading this list who also run on this machine.
