So, yes this is something that I've been meaning to get around to
doing.  File a PR so that I don't forget to do it, and I can send
you a workaround in the meantime.  I am in NYC right now, and thus
separated from my documentation, but I'll send you a quick patch
that will allow you to build a one off sync-on-green kernel while
I look into getting the right values out of the SRM to set it
correctly.
