Samsung obtained an architectural licence from DEC in 1996 which allows
them to develop the Alpha processor and provide component products to
the OEM market. When Compaq acquired DEC they also invested with Samsung
into the creation of API which posted a $100 million turnover in its
first year.

Most Alpha OEM distributors are in Europe.(...willing to sell to
end-users) The API site has a list. I am waiting for account approval to
build 'white box' Alpha systems.
