Hi,

having continued problems with NetBSD on an XP1000 using NetBSD
(this was originally reported with 1.4P, bug report 9352).
In this case, 1.4.2. When accessing large files, e.g. doing

zcat base.tgz | (mkdir base; cd base; tar xf -)

leads to the following messages. At the end, it is now possible
to somewhat get back to the shell prompt, but the system is not
very usable (read: the messages keep repeating, but nothing gets
executed, including a simple 'ls'). This has been discussed with
Matt Jacob, with the suspicion that it had to deal with the ISP
QLogic driver, but this seems unsure now. Turning the firmware
off for the ISP driver doesn't seem to work anymore, and causes
the kernel to search for a valid drive when booted with that
kernel.

In comparison, FreeBSD 4.0 does not have this problem.

If anybody else has seen this, or has even found a solution, it
would be great to hear about it.

Sven
PS: Why doesn't the ti (Alteon ACEnic, see below) driver work, I
thought that was fixed in 1.4.2?
