I suspect the troulble source is other than flash ROM.  The worst case
scenario is the CPU was fryed.  I mistakenly broke handful number of
600s and 300s in such ways.

DEC3000 SRM image is reprogrammable, via CD-ROM, BOOTP and MOP.
