I just SUPped a fresh -current this morning for my 3000/300, compiled,
and booted it. All appears okay except for this message during boot:

Then, I manually had to enter the root device (sd0a), and the boot
proceeded normally. Previously, the machine would boot without having
to enter anything manually.

What does this warning message mean? Do I need to install new
bootblocks or something? (I'm using 1.4 release vintage bootblocks.)

Also, it's rather annoying, but usually when I shut down the system, it
normally doesn't manage to sync the discs before giving up, meaning I
have to endure long fsck's of /usr and /home partitions when I next boot
up.

Any clues?

(The full dmesg boot output is shown at the end of this message.)

Cheers,

Paul.
