By fortuitous chance, the recently uploaded snapshot was built with
sources from just before the recent change to rtld, and does not
suffer from the PTL problems some people are seeing.

This change is suspect on some alpha systems. However, since the
cause of those problems hasn't yet been tracked down and it's possible
that the change actually tickled an alpha kernel bug, caution is
advised.

So, if you want to install this snapshot and get running, you can do
so without risking rtld problems. Before then upgrading further if you
want to track -current, you should probably wait until the source of
these problems has been tracked down and fixed. I'll probably make
another snap sometime not too long after that.

Just FYI.
