I've completed a small temporary FDDI connection between DEC3000/300
and Personal DECstation, and they look like running fairly well so
far. The Personal DECstation is running a fullscale kernel build over
NFS/TCP right now, and its load average is higher than 2 for last 30
minutes. Both kernels are made from few days old -current source
codes.

The DEFTA reports it's a dual-attach device. Similar trouble in
DEFEA/DEFPA?

$ /sbin/ifconfig -m fta0
fta0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 4470
        media: FDDI Single-mode dual-attach
        status: inserted
        supported FDDI media:
                media Single-mode mediaopt dual-attach
        inet 10.1.1.2 netmask 0xff000000 broadcast 10.255.255.255
