Greetings,

I've been trying to install NetBSD 1.4 on an DEC alpha 3000, booting from
a hdd. I created the image using the command on my FreeBSD box:
dd if=cdhdtape bs=16k of=/dev/rda1
When attempting to boot on the alpha, the machine stalls at:
scc0 at ioassic0 offset 0x100000
I've searched altavista, dejanews and the netbsd mailing list.
Unfortunately, I've only found mentions of the problem but still no
solution.

Please let me know what can be wrong and how I can possibly fix it.

Thanks in advance,
Marc
