I installed the 1.4 release, which I assume would have run installboot...
I then upgraded to -current (by compiling the source) and transferred
everything to another drive (a wide SCSI drive; the original install was
on a borrowed IDE drive). So, 1.4 and -current installboot seem to be
working for me...
