In private mail, I was charged with, in my message about HTML comments,
(a) being unnecessarily verbose and (b) more or less calling
incompetent whomever produced certain fragments of the website.

On reflection, I believe both of these charges are true, and I wish to
publicly apologize for them.  Neither was called for or appropriate.
