We do support the floppy in recent (post 2/20/99) -current, and we
supported IDE as of 1.3, though support on Multias and axppci33's is
in -current only.

If you look in:
	src/distrib/alpha/floppy-GENERIC/Makefile

...then you will see how you can put a tar file containing a kernel onto
a floppy and make it bootable. Alternatively, you can just make a UFS
on it like any other drive.

I'm not sure how to explain the missing drives..it works for me. Anyone
else?

I deleted it, it seemed to be causing problems for people. I'm making
a new one now.
