I'm new to NetBSD so don't be surprised if/when I do or say something
silly.

Is this the right place for this question, or should it be on current-users?
Or has this been hashed over already?

I'm trying to get NetBSD up on a couple of Personal Workstations.
I'm using current because that runs on Personal Workstations and
the latest release doesn't.

I've got the builtin Tulip/de0 connected via twisted pairs, half
duplex, 10 megabit.

If I tell ifconfig "media 10baseT", it doesn't work. I'm not sure
what is going wrong. The light on the hub was on. ping didn't work.
If I say "media auto", I get packets through.

But I also get a message on the console saying "de0: link down: cable
problem?" every second or so.

If I ping the NetBSD system from another machine the error message
stops.

Am I doing anything silly to cause this?

This machine has a second SCSI chain, an FDDI card, an ATM card,
and a Gigabit Ethernet card. No display.
